Now Taking Titles for a Big Apple Florist Playlist!

I’ve been thinking a lot about what to write during this beautiful season for flowers.  With the vibrant colors featured in our Summer Collection of flower arrangements, it’s hard not to be inspired, and whenever I am inspired I feel like I hear music!  (That could also be because they play the radio downstairs whenever I am designing floral arrangements.) I was also thinking how much I would love to hear some readers’ comments!

So, I want you all to help me come up with a

Big Apple Florist Playlist!

To start things off, I’ll make it easy.  Send me all the flower songs you can think of, with flowers in the title! Submit your flower song titles to me at Erin@bigappleflorist.com.

I’ll start with a few obvious(ly amazing) flower songs:

Flower Songs

For as long as mankind has existed, flowers have provided endless opportunities for referencing in literature, poetry, film, and song.  Most often used in lyrics as a metaphor, flowers songs range from popular love ballads to rock and pop tunes.  The influence of flowers on music is vast, from songs with flowers in the title, songs about flowers, to one line mentions of flowers in the song lyrics.

List of Songs about Flowers

Flowers appear in songs dating back to early recordings of mountain music and blues.  Among the most popular reference is of course, the most popular flower, the rose.  There are hundreds of songs referring to the rose either in title or in lyrics.  Other common flower references include orchids, daises, lilacs, lilies and marigolds.
