Big Apple Florist at Sunrise Day Camp’s Fundraising Gala
The Sunrise in the City Cocktail Party was a new and exciting event in Manhattan; the purpose was to raise money for the children of buy cialis onlineisedaycamp.org/”>Sunrise Day Camp, the only dedicated day camp in the nation for children with cancer and their siblings.
Big Apple Florist had the amazing opportunity to be a part of this special evening and helped with the design and flowers for their first annual Gala at The Tribeca Rooftop’s new event space, Three Sixty°. It was a night of fun, friends, raffles, and a live auction hosted by John Oliver from the Daily Show. See pictures below of the evening:
Recently, we designed the floral décor for the 2011 Endeavor Gala at 583 Park Avenue in NYC. Our exotic flower arrangements and event flowers were a big hit at the magical event!
The color palette for the Middle Eastern-themed fundraising event was peacock and hot pink. With that inspiration, our event’s flowers and decor made use of colorful Moroccan lanterns, bright pink, aqua and amethyst glass, peacock blue feathers, and “Hot Lady” rose petals to create a lush effect that enhanced the exotic theme of the night.
Each exotic flower arrangement at the event combined flowers with a miniature tableau of lanterns, votives, orchids, and rose petals on a mirrored tray, so the colors and lights were magnified and reflected.

Check out our lovely flower arrangements on the set of Anderson Cooper’s new daytime talk show, Anderson! Our floral designer Georgeanne created the flower decor using inspiration from Judy Collins’ 1967 album Wildflowers. We think they’re a perfect background setting for Judy Collins’ performance of “Amazing Grace” for Gloria Vanderbilt, if we do say so ourselves:
We love being a part of New York City events like this, and are happy to provide event flowers and floral decor for all occasions! Give us a call (212) 687-3434 for a consultation of your own.
Because the Big Apple Florist design studio is located a few blocks from the United Nations on 45th Street, every year during the third week of September we find ourselves smack dab in the middle of the hubbub that accompanies the arrival
of world leaders and their delegations. Over the next few weeks in September, we are usually busy assisting the Missions and Embassies with event flowers, welcoming gifts, and floral décor for special events in addition to our everyday NYC flower deliveries.

Last week, Big Apple Florist got an amazing opportunity to decorate the NYC set of Anderson Cooper’s brand-new daytime talk show Anderson!
Our flowers can be seen next week in the Monday, September, 19 2011 episode. Anderson’s special guest on Monday will be his fabulous Mom, Gloria Vanderbilt, and will feature a musical performance by Judy Collins – Gloria’s favorite singer! The producers asked that we create a colorful display garden of folk-singing flowers, with our inspiration being Judy Collin’s “Wildflowers” Album.
It won’t be long before we’ll all be there with snow
I want to wash my hands, my face and hair with snow
I long to clear a path and lift a spade of snow
Oh, to see a great big man entirely
Why on earth am I singing songs from “White Christmas” in early September? Because I’m a florist, that’s why! Oddly enough, here at Big Apple we began preparing for the holidays in July, like industrious little squirrels. We spent the summer shopping for gorgeous wreaths, trees, ornaments and bows to add festive sparkle to homes and offices when we offerholiday decorating services come Christmastime.
